Volunteer Car Scheme
Do you require transport to attend an appointment at the doctors, hospital, opticians, dentists or clinic?
Our volunteer car scheme provides tailor made journeys for people who have difficulties, due to age, illness or restricted mobility or whose transport needs cannot be met by the existing public transport network.

Other destinations such as visiting loved ones and friends in residential care are also considered.
​
The service is provided in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and provides a door-to-door service which helps people maintain their independence and quality of life.
​
The service is provided by volunteers using their own cars or the Community Transport accessible vehicles when necessary for wheelchair users. A mileage-based charge will be applicable on all journeys under the scheme.
​
Please note that we're unable to transport people under 18 years of age or people with Alzheimer’s or Dementia unless they travel with a familiar escort or carer.
​
Bookings should be made as far in advance as possible – and by at least a week ahead - although every effort will be made to accommodate late requests.
